Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does the +1 or +2 mean on a cottage page?

A: The + is the amount of guests that can be accommodated on an one of the following  sofa bed within the property/futon bed/z-bed/day bed.  For example, Chapel House has one double bed and a sofa bed that sleeps 2 extra guests, so 2+2  (If you require use of the extra sleeping options then please request bedding)

Q: What time is it possible to get access to the property?

A: The property will be ready for you at either 3.30 or 4.30pm on your day of arrival. Please check individual property details for your arrival time.

Q: What time do I have to leave by on my departure day?

A: 10.00am is departure time.

Q: Where can I park in St.Ives?

A: There are 'pay and display' car-parks in and around St Ives' town centre. It is difficult to find a space in peak season, and queues can develop. If you find a space you can buy a ticket for a week, but this does not entitle you to a reserved space. The '1000' space car-park at the top of the town beside the leisure centre is most people's choice. It's a ten minute walk into town from here (down hill). A weekly ticket in a public car-park is currently £35, and you can buy this from some (currently The Island and the Leisure Centre) pay-and-display machine in Cornwall County Council long stay car parks or via the Cornwall County Coucils website if booking 10 days or more in advance of your arrival.

You can purchase a ROVER ticket from either the Island carpark or The Library - this ticket allows you to park in a whole host of long stay car parks throughout Cornwall.  A full list can be found on the Cornwall County Council website.

Alternatively contact for a pre-booked private space.

Q: Is it possible to drive into the town centre?

A: Yes, vehicle access is permitted in most streets in and around the harbour. However, please be aware the streets are extremely narrow, and in peak season progress can be very slow with many minor jams. We strongly advise parking outside town, and getting a taxi to your cottage. Please contact us for advice on parking.

Q: Why do I have to pay a damage deposit, and when will I get it back?

A: The damage deposit (£200.00) is our way of giving some form of security to the property owner against damage to their property. It is very rare that we hold back part of the deposit. Generally we will return the deposit as soon as we can, but this may take up to 14 days. We are unable to return deposits on the day of your departure.

Q: Where do I collect keys?

A: All of our properties have a key-safe near to the front door. Prior to your stay we will give you a 4 digit access code to access the safe.  Alternatively one of the team can meet you on arrival (by prior arrangement only)

Q: Should I bring bed linen and towels?

A: No, all bed linen and towels are provided for each guest.
